Burdens

As burdens go I have quite a horde

more than I care to count

And if it means a higher reward

I’ll settle for this amount

And if it’s not how many you find

but burden’s total weight

I hope I’ve carried in this lifetime

enough to open heaven’s gate

To those here and gone, I tried my best

with all I had and know

Just reward my soul a place to rest

away from this world’s woe

I pray in this life I’ve paid the cost

enough for God’s guarantee

being rejoined with those I’ve lost

Lords is heaven enough for me
